Oil-base mud

A drilling fluid system where oil forms the continuous phase, and water is emulsified within it as the dispersed phase. These muds are preferred for drilling reactive shales, high-temperature formations, and in situations requiring enhanced lubricity. They provide excellent wellbore stability and minimize formation damage.
