Outside diameter
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002652
The external dimension of a cylindrical object, such as a pipe, casing, or tubing, measured across its cross-section. This measurement is a standard specification for all tubular goods and determines compatibility with other downhole components and wellbore restrictions. For example, 7-inch casing has an outside diameter of 7 inches and is designed to be run inside a larger-diameter hole.
