Power-law fluid
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002889
A non-Newtonian fluid model used to describe the rheological behavior of drilling fluids, where the shear stress is proportional to the shear rate raised to a power. This model characterizes fluids that exhibit shear-thinning or shear-thickening properties, unlike Newtonian fluids with constant viscosity. The power-law model is defined by two parameters: the flow behavior index (n) and the consistency index (K).
