Prehydrated bentonite
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004420
Bentonite clay that has been mixed with water and allowed to hydrate for a period before being added to the main drilling fluid system. This process allows the clay platelets to fully swell and disperse, maximizing its yield and rheological properties. Prehydrated bentonite provides immediate viscosity and fluid loss control when introduced into the mud.
