Radial array
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003029
An array of seismic sources or receivers laid out along lines that radiate outward from a central point, usually a borehole. Surface shots or geophones at different azimuths around the wellhead are recorded by, or record, a source or receiver placed in the well. Comparing travel times across azimuths shows how the velocity structure near the well changes with direction.
