Radial differential temperature log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004430
A temperature log in which two sensors held against the casing wall at the same depth are turned around the casing, and the difference between their readings is recorded. A channel or low-rate flow behind the pipe on one side produces a temperature contrast between azimuths, so the log locates flow behind casing that a conventional temperature log can miss. Because both sensors see the same geothermal gradient, only local anomalies show.
