Sag

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003228

The settling of solid particles, such as barite, from a drilling fluid when circulation is stopped. This phenomenon can lead to an uneven distribution of solids in the wellbore, potentially causing issues like lost circulation or stuck pipe. Sag is typically measured by comparing the density of fluid samples taken at different depths or times.
