Stripper rubber

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003654

A resilient sealing element, typically made of elastomer, used in snubbing or coiled tubing operations to provide a pressure seal around the tubular as it enters or exits the wellbore. It prevents well fluids from escaping to the surface while allowing the pipe to pass through. Stripper rubbers are consumable items that wear out over time due to friction and pressure.
