Stripping

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003655

The process of running pipe into or out of a wellbore while maintaining pressure control, often through a stripper rubber or annular preventer. This technique is used when the well is live and cannot be killed, allowing operations to proceed without releasing wellbore fluids. Stripping operations require careful monitoring of wellhead pressure and pipe movement.
