Vesicle

A small, bubble-like cavity within an igneous rock, formed by the expansion of gases during the solidification of lava or magma. These voids are typically spherical or ovoid and range in size from microscopic to several centimeters. Vesicles are common in extrusive igneous rocks such as basalt and scoria.
