Vesicular porosity

The pore space within an igneous rock created by gas bubbles that were trapped during the solidification of lava or magma. These pores are generally isolated and poorly connected, limiting their contribution to fluid flow. Vesicular porosity is common in volcanic rocks like basalt and pumice.
