Viscous force
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004055
The resistance to flow within a fluid or between a fluid and a solid surface, arising from the fluid's viscosity. In enhanced oil recovery, viscous forces drive the displacement of oil by an injected fluid. The ratio of viscous forces to capillary forces, represented by the capillary number, determines the effectiveness of oil mobilization.
