Zinc oxide

A chemical compound used in drilling fluids as a scavenger for hydrogen sulfide (H2S), reacting to form zinc sulfide and water. This process removes the corrosive and toxic H2S gas from the drilling mud, protecting personnel and equipment. It is often applied in situations where H2S is present in moderate concentrations.
