Prime wafer

Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000263

A silicon wafer of the top quality grade, with tight limits on flatness, surface particles, defects, and resistivity, sold for making production devices. Specifications cover parameters such as total thickness variation, bow, warp, and particle counts above a stated size. Test-grade and reclaim wafers have looser limits and cost less, so they are used to monitor or qualify equipment instead of building product.
