Monitor wafer
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000379
A bare silicon or test-patterned wafer processed alongside or in sequence with product wafers to qualify and monitor the performance of fabrication equipment and processes. It is used to measure parameters like film thickness uniformity, etch rates, or particle contamination levels without sacrificing valuable production material. Unlike a product wafer, a monitor wafer contains no active devices and is often reused or reclaimed after measurement.
