Showerhead
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000385
A component in semiconductor processing equipment, such as chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or plasma etching systems, designed to uniformly distribute process gases across the surface of a wafer. It typically consists of a plate with numerous small holes or channels through which gases flow. The design of the showerhead directly impacts the uniformity of film deposition or etch rates across the wafer.
