Quartz
Term · Semiconductors · MLC-T-SEM-000278
A crystalline form of silicon dioxide (SiO2) known for its piezoelectric properties and high thermal stability. In semiconductor manufacturing, it is used for furnace tubes, wafer boats, and photomask substrates due to its purity and resistance to high temperatures and chemical etching. Fused quartz, an amorphous form, is also widely employed for similar applications.
