Adenylate energy charge
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000244
A quantitative measure of the metabolic energy stored in a cell's pool of adenine nucleotides. It is calculated from the molar concentrations of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine diphosphate (ADP), and adenosine monophosphate (AMP). The charge ranges from 0 (all AMP) to 1.0 (all ATP), with healthy, actively growing cells maintaining a value between 0.8 and 0.95.
