Aerometer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000310

An instrument designed to measure the density or specific gravity of gases. It typically operates by comparing the buoyancy of a sealed bulb in the gas to its buoyancy in a reference gas or vacuum. Some aerometers are also used to determine the density of liquids, functioning similarly to a hydrometer.
