Alcohol-related neurodevelopmental disabilities

A spectrum of cognitive, behavioral, and learning problems that can occur in children whose mothers consumed alcohol during pregnancy. These disabilities are caused by the teratogenic effects of alcohol on the developing fetal brain. They encompass a range of functional impairments, including difficulties with attention, memory, and executive function, without necessarily exhibiting the facial features of fetal alcohol syndrome.
