Fetal alcohol syndrome

A collection of severe and irreversible birth defects and developmental abnormalities in a child, caused by maternal consumption of alcohol during pregnancy. This condition manifests as a range of physical, mental, and behavioral problems, including distinctive facial features, growth deficiencies, and central nervous system dysfunction. The severity of symptoms varies depending on the amount and timing of alcohol exposure during gestation.
