Angiogenesis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000592
The physiological process involving the growth of new blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature. This process is distinct from vasculogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels when there are no pre-existing ones. Angiogenesis is a normal process in growth and healing, but it also occurs in tumor development.
