Vasculogenesis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012523

The process of de novo formation of blood vessels from angioblasts, which are precursor endothelial cells, during embryonic development. This involves the differentiation of mesodermal cells into endothelial cells, followed by their aggregation to form primitive vascular tubes. It is distinct from angiogenesis, which is the formation of new vessels from pre-existing ones.
