Area source

A diffuse source of air pollution that originates from a collection of individually small emission points, rather than a single, large point source. Examples include emissions from residential heating, dry cleaners, or widespread agricultural activities. Regulatory agencies often define specific thresholds for what constitutes an area source versus a point source.
