Aromatic substitution photochemical electrophile-olefin combination

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000786

A photochemical reaction involving the substitution of a group on an aromatic ring by an electrophilic olefin, initiated by light absorption. This process typically proceeds through a photoinduced electron transfer or excitation of the aromatic substrate. The reaction results in the formation of a new carbon-carbon bond on the aromatic system.
