Aromatic photocycloaddition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000785
A photochemical reaction where two or more molecules, at least one of which is aromatic, combine to form a cyclic adduct. This process involves the absorption of light energy to promote an electron to a higher energy state, initiating the cycloaddition. The reaction often leads to the formation of new carbon-carbon bonds.
