Asymmetric polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000862
A polymerization process that yields a polymer with a preferred handedness or chirality, even when starting from achiral monomers or using achiral initiators. This can occur through the formation of helical structures or by preferential incorporation of one enantiomer from a racemic mixture. The resulting polymer exhibits optical activity.
