Atom-molecule complex mechanism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000910
A reaction mechanism in chemical kinetics where an atom and a molecule first form a transient, weakly bound complex before undergoing a chemical transformation. This complex can then either dissociate back to reactants or proceed to form products. Such mechanisms are often observed in gas-phase reactions at low pressures.
