Atomize

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000908

To break a liquid into a fine spray of very small droplets, often by forcing it through a small orifice or by using a high-velocity gas stream. This process increases the surface area of the liquid, facilitating reactions, evaporation, or dispersion. Atomization is employed in fuel injection, spray painting, and aerosol generation.
