Auxiliary gas
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001014
A gas fed to a spray ion source alongside the nebulizing gas to speed removal of solvent from the droplets, commonly heated nitrogen in electrospray and chemical ionization sources. It differs from the auxiliary argon flow of an inductively coupled plasma torch, which positions the plasma away from the injector tip.
