Bayesian probability
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001146
A measure of belief or confidence in the occurrence of an event or the truth of a hypothesis, which is updated as new evidence becomes available. It contrasts with frequentist probability, which defines probability as the long-run frequency of an event. This approach is central to Bayesian statistics and decision theory.
