Bernoullian distribution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001197
A statistical distribution describing the probability of success or failure in a single trial, often applied to the stereochemical placement of monomer units during polymer chain growth. In the context of polymer stereoregularity, it implies that the probability of adding a specific stereoisomer is independent of the configuration of the preceding unit. This leads to atactic polymers.
