Most probable distribution

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007593

A statistical distribution of polymer chain lengths or molecular weights that arises under specific polymerization conditions, particularly in step-growth polymerization or in chain polymerization with extensive chain transfer. This distribution is characterized by a polydispersity index of 2.0 for linear polymers. It describes the relative number of polymer chains of each degree of polymerization.
