Biological exposure index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001280
A reference value for the concentration of a chemical or its metabolite in a biological sample, such as blood or urine, that corresponds to a specific level of occupational exposure. These indices are used to assess the total absorption of a chemical from all routes of exposure. They represent levels of determinants that are likely to be observed in workers exposed at or below a threshold limit value.
