Biomarker

A measurable indicator of a biological state, process, or condition within an organism. It can be a molecule, gene, or physiological characteristic that reflects normal biological processes, pathogenic processes, or pharmacological responses to therapeutic intervention. Biomarkers are used in diagnostics, disease prognosis, and monitoring treatment effectiveness.
