Biomonitoring type 4

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001307

A form of biological monitoring that determines genetically based resistance in populations living in contaminated areas, such as raised tolerance of a pollutant in exposed populations compared with unexposed ones. It is the fourth of four types of biomonitoring distinguished in ecotoxicology, alongside community change, bioaccumulation and effects on individual organisms.
