Biomonitoring type 2

A form of biological monitoring that determines the bioaccumulation of contaminants in organisms among sites that are thought to vary in their level of contamination, by comparing tissue concentrations in the same species between sites. It is the second of four types of biomonitoring distinguished in ecotoxicology.
