Blank material

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001362

A substance or matrix that is identical to the sample matrix but does not contain the analyte of interest. It is analyzed alongside samples to account for background signals or interferences from reagents, solvents, or the analytical system itself. The signal obtained from a blank material is used for blank correction in quantitative analysis.
