Branch point
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001474
A specific atom or group of atoms within a polymer chain from which at least three polymer chains emanate. This structural feature is responsible for the formation of branched or cross-linked polymer architectures. The presence and density of branch points significantly influence the material's physical properties, such as viscosity and elasticity.
