Branched chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001476
A polymer chain that contains one or more branch points, from which additional polymer chains or segments emanate. Unlike linear chains, these structures have side chains attached to the main backbone. The degree and type of branching affect properties such as melt viscosity, solubility, and mechanical strength.
