Branch unit

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001475

A constitutional unit that contains a branch point, so that three or more chains of the macromolecule emerge from it. Its functionality is the number of chains meeting there, giving trifunctional units for three chains, tetrafunctional for four and pentafunctional for five. The units within the chains themselves are ordinary linear units.
