Bystander exposure

Exposure of individuals to a chemical substance that occurs incidentally, without direct handling or application of the substance. This often happens when a person is in the vicinity of an area where a chemical is being used or has recently been applied. Such exposure can occur through inhalation of airborne particles, dermal contact, or ingestion of contaminated materials.
