Cage compound
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001565
A polycyclic compound whose molecular structure encloses a cavity, often with a high degree of symmetry. The atoms forming the cage are covalently bonded, creating a rigid framework. Examples include adamantane and cubane, which exhibit distinct chemical and physical properties due to their constrained geometries.
