Carbon felt
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001636
A non-woven material composed of randomly oriented carbon fibers, typically produced by carbonizing a precursor felt, such as rayon or polyacrylonitrile (PAN). This material offers high surface area, good electrical conductivity, and thermal insulation properties. Carbon felt is frequently used as an electrode material in flow batteries and as insulation in high-temperature vacuum furnaces.
