Cistactic polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002091
A tactic polymer with double bonds in its main chain that all have the cis geometry, as in cis-1,4-polyisoprene or cis-1,4-polybutadiene made by stereoselective polymerization of dienes. The term concerns the geometry of in-chain double bonds, not the side of the chain on which substituents lie, which is what isotactic and syndiotactic describe. Its counterpart with all-trans double bonds is the transtactic polymer.
