Coarctation

A congenital narrowing or constriction of a tubular organ or vessel in the body, most frequently observed in the aorta. This anatomical defect restricts blood flow, leading to increased pressure upstream from the constriction and reduced pressure downstream. Aortic coarctation is a common congenital heart defect, often diagnosed in infancy.
