Combined technique

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002275

The use of two or more techniques during the same period on separate samples, the techniques being thermal, non-thermal or a mixture, as defined in thermal analysis nomenclature. It differs from a simultaneous technique, in which the several measurements are made on one and the same sample at the same time, as in an instrument that records mass loss and heat flow from one sample together. Care is needed because separate samples can differ slightly in mass and history.
