Comproportionation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002344
A redox reaction in which two species containing the same element in different oxidation states react to form a product where that element is in an intermediate oxidation state. This process is the reverse of disproportionation. An example is the reaction of elemental sulfur with sulfide to form polysulfides.
