Cross reactivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002709
The ability of an antibody or other binding agent to react with substances other than the specific analyte it was designed to detect. This phenomenon can lead to false positive or false negative results in immunoassays and other analytical techniques. The degree of cross reactivity is typically quantified as a percentage relative to the primary analyte.
