Deposition velocity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003031

A conceptual velocity representing the rate at which airborne substances are removed from the atmosphere and deposited onto a surface. It is calculated by dividing the deposition flux of a substance by its concentration in the air near the surface. This parameter is used in atmospheric modeling to quantify the dry deposition of pollutants.
